PROFESSOR J. T. OWOLABI
Head of Department
OWOLABI, Jimoh Temitayo is a Professor of Biogeography and Climatology in the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. He attended Ondo State University (Now Ekiti State University) Ado-Ekiti and obtained B.Sc Geography in 1995, M.Sc in University of Ibadan in 2004 and Ph.D in Biogeography in 2011. He earlier attended Local Authority Primary School, Ikosu-Ekiti (1969-1974), Igogo Commercial High School, Igogo-Ekiti (1977-1982), Community High School, Asewele Korede (1988). He started his academic career in the University as Graduate Assistant in January 2nd 2001. He rose through the ranks and promoted to Professor of Biogeography in 2020. He teaches Biogeography and Climatology courses. Some recent journals includes the Geographical Analysis of Gree Belt on Urban Climate of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State Nigeria and Determination of Growing season duration of cassava in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. He has over 40 publications in both national and international journals.

- Deputy Director, Directorate of Distance Learning (August 2018- July 2020)
- Field work Coordinator, Department of Geography and Planning Science (2017-2021)
He is presently the President Ikosu Ekiti Development Union. He is happily married to Mrs. Afolakemi Mistura Owolabi and blessed with children.
