Dr. Taiwo Owoeye


Dr. Taiwo Owoeye is a Reader in the Department of Economics at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) Economics from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, M.Sc Economics and Statistics from University of Benin and Ph.D Economics from University of Ado-Ekiti in 2010. He joined the services of University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000 as a Graduate Assistant. He has over two decades experience as a lecturer and researcher. He has travelled widely and won several prestigious research grants.  He is an alumnus of the American Political Science Association (APSA) 2013 African Methodological Workshop. He was also a co-recipient of the 2014 American Political Science Association Methodological Workshop Alumni Networking Grant.  He was a 2018 recipient of the Individual Research Grant from the African Peacebuilding Network (APN) of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). Dr Owoeye is currently working on a project, An Analysis of Price Setting Behavior in Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), funded under the Private Enterprise Development in Low Income Countries (PEDL) by Department for International Development (DFID) and Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) both of United Kingdom.  He is interested in how politics, institutions, and history drive economic decisions in Africa. His publications have appeared in several reputable journals.
