Dr. Ola Abegunde graduated from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of the Social Sciences, University of Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University), Nigeria with Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons) Degree (Second Class Upper Division) in Political Science in 2000. He also obtained the Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Political Science in (2005) and a Ph.D. Degree in Political Science from the same University in 2009. The Ag. HOD is currently a Reader with over 50 publications in reputable National and International Journals. His works focus on public policy, peace and conflict studies, federalism, ethnic studies, and governance. He has a proven experience in teaching, research and community development.

He teaches a wide range of graduate courses including Research methodology, statistical analysis in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Foreign Policy, Nigerian Government and Politics, Comparative Federalism, and other courses in Political Science at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is a member of Nigerian Political Science Association, International Political Science Association, International Association of Government Officials.
